Job summary

VNA Health is seeking an Inpatient Registered Dietician to work with the interdisciplinary team in caring for terminally ill patients in an inpatient unit. You will assess nutritional status, develop appropriate diet plans, and ensure dietary needs are met while supporting patients and families.

The role requires experience with hospice or home care settings, strong communication, and collaboration skills as you coordinate with staff across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Registered dietitian with experience working with terminally ill patients and families.
• Ability to perform nutritional assessments and intervene appropriately.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient nutritional status affected by disease, treatment and other determinants and recommend appropriate diet.
• Work with interdisciplinary group to identify patients at risk for nutritional problems.
• Approve all menus in the inpatient unit.
• Ensure patient food preferences are respected and substitutions align with food groups.
• Provide therapeutic diets as prescribed and coordinate with the dietitian for planning and serving.
