Job summary

Alamo Hospice in Waco is seeking a compassionate Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to join our caring team. You will perform personal care, assist with daily living activities, monitor patients, document care provided, and communicate with the Case Manager.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification compliant with state requirements.
• CPR certification must be current.
• Active state aide registry listing with clean record to deliver patient care.
• Age 18 or older as required by state law.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care.
• Understand hospice philosophy and provide care to terminally ill patients.
• Self-directed with minimal supervision and strong reliability.
• Good oral and written communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable insured vehicle or transportation.

Responsibilities

• Performing personal care needs after given a patient’s assignment and attending to requests promptly.
• Meeting safety needs of patients and using equipment safely.
• Providing personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos, and bed linens changes as assigned.
• Assisting in dressing and undressing patients as assigned.
• Planning and preparing nutritious meals, including shopping, as assigned.
• Assisting in feeding the patient as assigned.
• Taking and recording vital signs when ordered and documented.
• Observing patient’s skin condition and preventing tissue breakdown.
• Reporting changes to the Case Manager and coordinating with caregivers.
