Job summary

Gentiva seeks a compassionate Hospice Aide/CNA to provide hands‑on care in home settings, assisted living facilities, or inpatient units.

You will perform direct personal care, monitor patient status, document visits, and support families during end‑of‑life care. Must hold an active Texas CNA license and CPR certification; valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.

Qualifications

• Active CNA license in the hiring state.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Driver’s license and reliable vehicle with insurance.
• Six months of direct patient care experience required.
• Comfortable working in home, hospice facilities, or long‑term care environments.
• Demonstrated compassion, patience, and ability to handle emotional situations.
• Willingness to work independently and adapt to changing patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to terminally ill patients.
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
• Support safe mobility with walkers and wheelchairs.
• Help with meal preparation, feeding, and light housekeeping.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition.

About You

Qualifications – What You’ll Bring:

• Six (6) months of direct patient care experience (Required)
• Comfortable working in home settings, hospice facilities, or long-term care environments
• Demonstrated compassion, patience, and ability to handle emotional situations
• Willingness to work independently and adapt to changing patient needs

Preferred Background (Not Required)

• Experience in home health, hospice, palliative care, or oncology
• Prior roles in hospital nursing, ICU, geriatrics, med‑surg, ER, telemetry, or nursing homes
• Exposure to end‑of‑life care, wound care, or admissions support
