Halcyon Home seeks a compassionate Hospice RN, Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in Dallas, TX. The role combines nursing leadership with administrative duties to support high-quality patient care in hospice and home health settings.

The ideal candidate will have a BSN, Texas RN licensure, and at least 2 years of nursing experience including leadership in hospice. Experience with Home Care Home Base is strongly preferred, with a focus on compliant, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• BSN is required; MSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN license to practice.
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience, with 1 year in hospice/palliative leadership.
• Strong knowledge of hospice regulations and standards.
• Home Care Home Base experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in daily hospice operations.
• Perform administrative tasks: documentation, reporting, and compliance in Home Care/Homebase EMR.
• Promote hospice policies to ensure quality patient care.

Essential Functions:

The Hospice RN, Asisstant Director of Nursing (ADON) role is perfect for an experienced hospice nurse who loves people and is committed to providing exceptional care with a touch of hospitality. The ideal candidate will be adept at administrative tasks and comfortable using the Home Care, Homebase EMR system.

• Assist the Director of Nursing in the daily operations of the hospice program.


• Perform administrative tasks, including documentation, reporting, and compliance monitoring, using the Home Care, Homebase EMR system.


• Promotes the philosophy and administrative policies of the Hospice, in an effort to ensure quality of patient care.


• Supervises and provides direction to subordinates, in an effort to ensure quality, compliance with the Plan of Care, assessment and reassessment of patients' needs, and continuity of services by appropriate health care personnel.


• Provide leadership and guidance to the nursing staff, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.


• Ensure high-quality care is delivered to patients by adhering to all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.


• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.


• Participate in the recruitment, training, and evaluation of nursing staff.


• Address and resolve any patient or staff concerns promptly and professionally.


• Stay current with the latest hospice care practices and regulatory requirements.


• Promotes and educates regarding the concepts of infection control and standard precautions in coordinating and performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred.


• Current license as a registered nurse (RN) in Texas and/or in accordance with the Board of Nurse .


• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with 1 years in a leadership role in hospice or palliative care.


• Strong understanding of hospice regulations and standards.


• Home Care Home Base experience strongly preferred.


• Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.


• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.


• Reliable transportation. Valid and current auto liability insurance.
