Job summary

Sequoia Hospice East Bay is seeking compassionate Hospice Aides to join our team serving Contra Costa County, CA. Under RN supervision, HHAs provide personal care, comfort, and support to patients in their homes, helping ensure dignity and safety at the end of life.

Qualifications

  • Active California HHA certification.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Empathy and compassion for patients and families.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
  • Physical ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients; prolonged standing and walking required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and skin care.
  • Assist with ambulation, exercise, and range-of-motion activities as directed.
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals; assist with feeding as needed.
  • Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) when ordered.
  • Support patients with self-administration of medications.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment for patients.
  • Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties as appropriate.
  • Observe and record changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse.
  • Attend interdisciplinary case conferences and contribute to care planning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to agency standards.

Position Summary

As a Certified Hospice Aide (HHA), you will be a vital member of our interdisciplinary care team, working under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide personal care and support to patients in their homes. You’ll help ensure comfort, dignity, and safety for patients during their end-of-life journey.

Sequoia Hospice East Bay – Contra Costa County, CA Pay Range: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour Job Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, Per Diem

Key Responsibilities
