Job summary

VITAS Healthcare is seeking a compassionate hospice aide to provide hands-on care, helping patients remain comfortable and maintain dignity during end-of-life care. You will assist with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and light homemaking while supporting meaningful activities and reporting changes to the registered nurse.

You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, traveling within your service area to provide care under RN supervision in patients' homes or care facilities.

Qualifications

• Approved hospice aide, home health aide or nurse aide training and competency.
• Ability to travel as required by the role.
• One year of direct patient care experience preferred.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a hospice aide, you will provide compassionate, hands-on care that helps patients remain comfortable and maintain dignity throughout their end-of-life journey.

You will:

• Provide light homemaking support related to the patient’s care
• Help patients maintain independence and participate in activities meaningful to them
• Observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to the registered nurse

WHERE YOU’LL WORK

You will spend most of your time caring for hospice patients wherever they call home, whether that means a private residence or an assisted living/skilled nursing facility.

You will travel within your assigned service area and provide care under the supervision of a registered nurse as part of an interdisciplinary hospice team.

• Approved hospice aide, home health aide or nurse aide training and competency
• Ability to travel as required by the role
