Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Hospice Aide - CNA to provide compassionate in-home care to patients, supporting daily living activities and comfort. The role involves collaborating with nursing staff to follow care plans and ensure patient safety at home.

The position offers hourly pay between $19.00 and $21.00, with benefits starting the first of the month after hire, and access to wellness programs and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant per state requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics during care tasks.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental tasks as assigned.
• Observes and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Follows written instructions from a registered nurse for the care plan.
• Assists with prescribed exercises as instructed by the nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, ketones, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of specific techniques of personal and supportive care such as ambulation of clients, transferring clients, assisting with the normal range of motion and positioning, and doing household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports and documents any changes in patient's status. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the primary nurse.
• Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care. Written instructions are to be received prior to the delivery of services.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.
