Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a Hospice Aide in Kimball, Tennessee to help patients heal at home. You will provide personal care, assist with daily activities, and support patients and families in a home-based setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, active state CNA certification, CNA experience in the last two years, CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license. Amedisys offers benefits and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.
• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics in personal and supportive care tasks.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals and assists with feeding.
• Performs homemaking and environmental services as assigned.
• Observes and reports changes in patient status to the primary nurse.
• Follows written instructions from a registered nurse and assists with prescribed exercises.
• Performs simple urine tests as instructed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care services to patients.

• Applies safety principles and proper body mechanics to the performance of specific techniques of personal and supportive care such as ambulation of clients, transferring clients, assisting with the normal range of motion and positioning, and doing household chores.
• Plans and prepares nutritious meals, assists with feeding, as assigned.
• Performs homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient's status. If unable to perform a certain task, report to the primary nurse.
• Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care. Written instructions are to be received prior to the delivery of services.
• Assists patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
• Performs and records simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.
