Job summary

Churchill Downs Inc. seeks a clocker for the Fair Grounds in New Orleans to time Thoroughbred workouts during training hours.

You will work in the clocker stand, coordinating with trainers, exercise riders and spotters to identify each horse and record workout details. The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED, must be 21+ and able to obtain a Racing License from the Louisiana Racing Commission.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years old and able to obtain a Racing License from Louisiana Racing Commission.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Clocks horse workouts during Thoroughbred training hours.
• Coordinates with trainers, exercise riders and spotters to identify each horse that works.
• Provides a detailed sheet of workouts including distance, intensity, and if work started from the starting gate.
• Faxes workouts daily to the Daily Racing Form and Equibase and posts for the public by the horsemen.
• Inputs information in the Incompass system for each horse.
