Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the Stable Supervisor, set up and dismantle guest areas.
• Meet and greet guests.
• Conduct stable tours.
• Answer questions about the horses.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the tour path and exhibit area.
• Halter and lead a horse when necessary.
• Assist the stable staff with daily chores, including watering horses and feeding/hay.

This is a part time position located in the Graceland Stables with variable/flexible working hours to include weekends, holidays, early mornings, evenings and overtime as required. This is an internal/external recruitment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under the supervision of the Stable Supervisor, set up and dismantle guest areas


• meet and greet guests


• conduct stable tours


• answer questions about the horses


• maintain the cleanliness of the tour path and exhibit area


• halter and lead a horse when necessary


• assist the stable staff with daily chores, including watering horses, placing hay in the stalls, touching up, grooming of the horses, and refreshing the bedding in the stalls

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

• Must be able to follow policy and procedures

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs


• ability to stoop and walk constantly, along with standing for long periods of time


• ability to speak clearly and distinctively

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

• Uniform is required


• no smoking or eating in the work area


• must be able to carry and use a hand held radio when assigned

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Work flexible hours, holidays, weekends, and overtime as required


• ability to work evenings with special events


• ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions
