Job summary

Stoneview ES in Georgia seeks a SPED Paraprofessional to support teachers and students in inclusive classrooms. Implement instructional plans, assist with behavioral and social-emotional needs, and help prepare materials.

The successful candidate will collaborate with teachers, communicate effectively, and foster a positive learning environment consistent with district policies. Requires 60 college hours or a GED with GACE Paraprofessional; valid CPS certificate is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses with GPA 2.0 or higher.
• High school diploma/GED and a passing score on the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Must obtain valid Professional Standards Commission approved paraprofessional certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide small group and/or individualized instruction following teacher lesson plans.
• Assist teachers with daily classroom management to maintain an effective learning environment.
• Assist with assessment of student performance and other recordkeeping tasks.
• Help develop and organize instructional materials and ensure availability before instruction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Stoneview ES is seeking an SPED Paraprofessional. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable and have a strong desire to help students learn. The primary responsibility is to implement, deliver and promote high academic expectations to all students. The ideal candidate must work collaboratively with team members and must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Functions

• In accordance with lesson plans developed by the teacher, provides small group and/or individualized instruction to students.
• Assists teachers with daily classroom management activities designed to ensure that students demonstrate behavior that is conducive to an effective learning environment.
• Assists teachers with assessment of student performance (standardized and non-standardized testing) and other recordkeeping tasks.
• Assists teachers with the development and organization of appropriate instructional materials for use with students and ensures the availability of these materials prior to scheduled instructional segments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education And/Or Experience

• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses completed with GPA 2.0 or higher from a Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university is required.
