Hope Children's Coordinator

Location: Chattanooga, TN, 37411

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hope Children's Coordinator to join our team in Chattanooga, TN. The ideal candidate will have experience working with youth and domestic violence victims/survivors, providing case management, outreach, and advocacy services. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a commitment to supporting children impacted by trauma and domestic violence.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, sociology, psychology, or a related field from an accredited university is required.
Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing case management, programming, outreach, and/or advocacy for youth or domestic violence victims/survivors is required.
Skills And Abilities
  • Excellent writing skills, oral communication, and ability to empathize and build rapport with clients.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with people of various backgrounds including domestic violence (DV) survivors.
  • Ability to work within the framework of the agency and follow established agency procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships within and outside the agency, including law enforcement, Child Protective Services (CPS), social service agencies, local schools, and other professional organizations.
  • Ability to organize own time and effort while prioritizing multiple tasks according to immediacy and urgency and work effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to attend meetings and training sessions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to attend Camp HOPE for one week in the summer.
  • Ability to provide crisis intervention and domestic violence awareness and education to victims.
  • Ability to understand cross-cultural relationships and provide support services to diverse populations.
Knowledge and Certifications
  • Knowledge of trauma, especially domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and their impacts.
  • Knowledge of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and assessments.
  • Certifications or training credentials in topics related to childhood health, well-being, healthy relationships, trauma, hope, and positive childhood experiences preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
