Job summary

Martinrea is seeking a tooling engineer to prepare tooling method plan packages for quotations on assigned projects. You will work closely with manufacturing, quality and tooling teams to ensure die builds meet the plant's needs and delivery is on time and within budget.

The role requires a BS in engineering or 5+ years of related experience, tooling expertise, and strong English communication. Proficiency in AutoCAD or CAD tools and knowledge of IATF16949/APQP is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tooling method plan packages for quotation on assigned project.
• Provide tooling follow-up for new programs.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and tooling groups to ensure die build meets plant needs.
• Maintain tooling progress with vendors to ensure on-time delivery within budget.
• Review supplier quotation packages and disseminate information.
• Support DFM&A concerns including GD&T at assembly and detail levels.

Required Qualifications:

• Must have a BS in engineering or 5 years of related experience.

• Excellent English communication skills both oral and written.
• Excellent organizational skills with dedication to quality.
• Knowledge in computer software for Windows, Auto-CAD or CAD equivalent
• Knowledge of IATF16949 and APQP processes

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of "tooling method plan" packages for quotation of new business proposals on an assigned
  project.
• Provides Tool follow-up for new programs.
• Works closely with manufacturing, quality, & production tooling group to ensure die build will meet the
  plant's specific needs.
• Maintains tooling progress with vendors to make sure die delivery is on-time & with-in budget.
• Receive, review and disseminate supplier quotation packages.
• Basic knowledge of materials and specifications for assigned project.
• Knowledge of assigned manufacturing facilities capabilities and limitations.
• Work closely with product design and manufacturing to support DFM&A concerns including GD&T at
  both the assembly and detail levels.
• Maintain up-to-date:
  • Quote support documentation.
  • Current die method plans.
  • Manufacturing concern issues
• Travel to Martinrea facilities and integrators to support tooling build, buy off and aid in the integration at
  the manufacturing facility up to and through program launch.
• Execute Material Reduction Initiatives.
• Responsible for development of press set-up documents.
• Responsible for working with EHS to ensure all safety protocols are being met/followed.
• Competency Level 3 understanding of all advanced processes and interactions as determined by the
  leadership team.
