MU Extension's Health & Human Sciences program providesresearch based educational programs on nutrition, food safety andpreservation, exercise, health, housing, parenting, senior living,and personal finance.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This full-time position is responsible for performing coordinationfor the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention High ObesityProgram (HOP) with the University of Missouri Extension. Thisposition will work directly with local coalitions, communityleaders, technical assistance providers, faculty within Health& Human Sciences Extension, and other interested parties toimplement policy, system, and environmental changes related to improving healthy food access, increasing active transportationplans and policies, and improving farm to early care and Educationactivities in accordance with HOP guidelines. This position willassist in collecting impact data and assembling reports, includingpress releases, peer reviewed journal articles and conferencepresentations. Successful candidate will be able to workindependently as well as within a team, operate with minimalguidance, and be a self-directed learner who is flexible and adaptable to changing environments.

This position is 100% grant-funded and is contingent on thecontinued availability of grant funds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Serve as local project coordinator for the CDC HOP program,including coordinating logistics for community trainings andmeetings, partner communication, and community outreach. (30%)
• Develop, advise, and lead local project implementation incollaboration with Extension Specialists, campus faculty, technicalassistance providers, and community members. Assist in ensuringthat HOP work is well-coordinated with other relevant MU Extensionprograms. Conduct community needs assessments and report findingsto relevant organizations, coalitions, and community members.(30%)
• Gather impact data, analyze program outcomes and assemblereports, including press releases, peer reviewed journal articlesand conference presentations. (10%)
• Serve as a program representative at internal and externalmeetings, as needed. (5%)
• Professional development to stay up to date on the latestdevelopments related to the HOP appropriate PSE initiatives.(5%)
• Maintain and extend partnerships with program collaborators andpotential collaborators. (10%)
• Assist in managing annual program county budgets, ensure fundsare spent appropriately, and invoices are submitted on time.(5%)
• Other duties as assigned. (5%)
• Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including thepossibility of some evenings and weekends, is required to fulfillassigned responsibilities.
• Some travel is required using a personal vehicle. Commutingmiles (from home to work and work to home) are notreimbursable.
• As with all positions, involvement with other duties andresponsibilities may be expected to support the mission and purposeof MU Extension.

Administrative supervision is received from the Assistant ExtensionProfessor for Policy Systems and Environmental Change. May mentor(or supervise as needed) others in completing program/projectduties.

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $53,976 - $60,000 annual
