Job summary

TSMC Arizona is seeking an Entry Level Hookup Cost and Planning Engineer to join our world-class fab in Phoenix, AZ. You will perform cost estimation, budgeting, scheduling, and cost control for complex projects, collaborating with engineering and project teams to meet milestones.

As an entry-level professional, you will develop skills in risk assessment, data analysis, and reporting while supporting global facilities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years in construction with 2+ years in coordinator/purchasing/operations analyst.
• English communication required; Mandarin/German/Japanese a plus.
• Equipment installation experience preferred.
• Fundamental project management and financial concepts supported.

Responsibilities

• Cost estimation and budgeting for projects by analyzing labor, materials, and time.
• Develop project schedules, identify milestones, and ensure timely completion.
• Monitor and control project costs and implement savings.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Analyze historical data, market trends, and project performance for forecasting.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Refine cost estimation methodologies and tools for efficiency.
• Develop cross-organizational project plans with timelines and deliverables.
• Facilitate cross-organizational communication and alignment on goals.
• Support global FAB facilities (Taiwan, Japan, Europe) for a period.
• Adjust work nature per time points and department needs.
• Undertake emergency troubleshooting; cooperate with day, night, and holiday shifts.

Job Description: Cost and Planning Engineer:

• Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Developing accurate cost estimates and budgets for projects by analyzing various factors like labor, materials, and time requirements.
• Scheduling and Planning: Developing project schedules, identifying milestones, and ensuring timely completion of project tasks.
• Cost Control: Monitoring and controlling project costs, identifying variances, and implementing cost-saving measures.
• Risk Assessment: Identifying potential risks that could impact project costs and developing mitigation strategies.
• Data Analysis: Analyzing historical data, market trends, and project performance to improve cost estimation accuracy and forecasting.
• Collaboration: Working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information, collaborate on decisions, and ensure projects align with strategic objectives.
• Reporting and Communication: Preparing detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, summarizing cost estimates, budgets, and project progress.
• Continuous Improvement: Implementing and refining cost estimation methodologies and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate cross organization to develop project plans specific to their functional area, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Facilitate communication cross organizationally, ensuring alignment on project goals and updates.
• Support global FAB facilities, such as Taiwan, Japan, and Europe, etc. for a certain period.
• Flexibly adjust the nature of work according to different time points and departmental goals and cooperate with departmental needs.
• Undertake responsibilities for emergency troubleshooting and cooperate with day, night, and holiday shifts during special periods.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or above. Major in Mechanical, Automation Engineering related fields, Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering, or Business Administration in Accounting or Finance & Business. - OR - a minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 2 of those years in project coordinator, purchasing, or operations analyst.
• Ability to communicate and work in an English environment is required (language ability in Mandarin, German, and Japanese is a plus).
• Experience with equipment installation is preferred.
• Proficiency in fundamental project management and financial concepts.
• Good problem-solving skills, communication ability, team spirit, active learning attitude.
• Support global FAB facilities, such as Taiwan, Japan, and Europe, etc. for a certain period.
• Flexibility to adjust the nature of work according to different time points and departmental goals and cooperate with departmental needs.
• Undertake responsibilities for emergency troubleshooting and cooperate with day, night, and holiday shifts during special periods.
