Job summary

Timken Company in the United States seeks a qualified Inspector to conduct inspections per government and Timken specifications, using precision gauges and masters. This role requires standing all day and lifting up to 40 lbs, with eye exam and math ability.

You will document results, flag variations, and work under the Department Supervisor. The position offers exposure to a variety of inspection stations and hands-on training in gauge setup, with safety and quality procedures guiding daily

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • An acceptable level of mathematics.
  • Lifting and material handling up to 40lbs for 90% of the work day.
  • Annual eye exam required.
  • Stand 100% of the work day.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects according to government requirements, Timken specs and customer specs.
  • Visually inspects surface defects and dimensionally check conformance with specs.
  • Performs off line inspections using specified gauges.
  • Measures parts to prints/Work Instructions and passes or holds product.
  • Plans and performs gauge set-ups as required.
  • Notifies supervisor of tolerances variations.
  • Etches product to determine grinding injury.
  • Polishes materials to remove etch stain per finish requirements.
  • Operates polishing and hand grinders.
  • Performs dock audits.
  • Moves materials/equipment using hand truck or hoist.
  • Follows quality procedures for documentation.
  • May rotate work assignments across stations or cells.
  • Maintains knowledge of current quality and safety systems and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Operates polishing and hand grinders.
  • Performs dock audits
  • Procures, handles, and moves materials and equipment using a hand truck, hoist, or by hand carrying.
  • Follows quality procedures related to documentation.
  • May require rotation of work assignments in various workstations or manufacturing cells.
  • Maintain knowledge of current quality and safety system(s) and other regulatory compliance related to this position.

  • This position is responsible to the Department Supervisor
