Job summary

Dallas County is seeking a Homicide Victim Advocate for the Cold Case Project.

The role provides advocacy counseling, crisis intervention, referrals, and case assistance in complex homicide cases, supporting victims' families and witnesses through the criminal justice process.You will collaborate with the District Attorney's Office, law enforcement, and community partners, coordinate resources, and assist with Victim Impact statements during court appearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree requirement from accredited college or university.
• Skills in standard software applications and strong communication.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of victims and sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with DA staff, judges, law enforcement to outreach to families and witnesses.
• Provide Crime Victims Compensation information and crisis counseling referrals.
• Assist families during court hearings and help prepare Victim Impact statements.
• Collaborate with the assigned prosecuting attorney in judicial proceedings with families and witnesses.
• Serve as liaison between staff and law enforcement to ensure information flow and goals are communicated.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
