Job summary

The Minnesota Veterans Home-Montevideo is seeking a Resident Assistant to help support the residents' needs by assisting with limited personal care and providing companionship, food service, snack preparation, and activity support. This is a part-time evening shift position (5:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.) with 24 hours per 2-week pay period and may require weekends.

  • Develop household customs and rituals by facilitating household-related activities.

This position is designated as part-time and primarily evening shift. The work schedule will include at least 24 hours per 2-week pay period and may include additional work hours, based on business needs. This position is not initially eligible for health and dental insurance benefits.

Additional Requirements
  • A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position. When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check.
  • A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
  • Employment reference checks will be conducted on finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with the applicant's former employer(s).
