Job summary

First Day Homecare in Battle Creek, MI seeks a skilled Registered Nurse to provide private duty nursing services under physician orders. You will perform skilled nursing tasks according to the Nurse Practice Act, follow client care plans, administer medications, and document changes in the electronic medical record while collaborating with the care team.

Reports to Clinical Supervisor. This on-site role requires 12-hour weekend day shifts and overnight coverage, plus 8- to 12-hour overnight

Qualifications

• RN license in the operating state (Michigan)
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• Current CPR certification and strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled nursing care per state Nurse Practice Act and client care plan.
• Administers medications and monitors client status per orders.
• Maintains accurate documentation in medical records and coordinates with the care team.
• Collaborates with physicians, NPs, and other professionals to ensure safe care.
• Ensures client safety and adherence to agency policies and standards.
• Participates in care coordination and attends agency meetings as requested.

Schedule / Expected Work Hours

• Battle Creek, MI: 12-hour weekend day shifts and overnights.
• Battle Creek, MI: 8-12-hour overnight shifts during the week.

Job Summary

Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and

within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.

Reports To: Clinical Supervisor

Provides Supervision To: NA – No supervision responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client's care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client's care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an RN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.
