Chicago is seeking compassionate Homemakers / Home Care Aides to join our team. This role helps clients stay safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes by providing in-home support with tasks like housekeeping, meals, errands, and companionship.

You will report to a supervisor and work within agency guidelines, delivering respectful, professional care and helping clients maintain quality of life in a dignified manner.

Qualifications

• The homemaker must pass agency exam with 75% or better.
• In good physical health.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal planning and meal preparation
• Perform light housekeeping: beds, dusting, vacuuming, floors
• Clean kitchens and bathrooms; laundry
• Run essential errands and shopping per care plan

Position Summary

Homemakers provide essential in-home support to individuals who need assistance due to age, illness, disability, or other health-related conditions. Services may include housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, errands, transportation, companionship, and respite support.

Our Homemakers play an important role in improving the quality of life of our clients by delivering care in a respectful, compassionate, and professional manner, in accordance with agency policies and industry standards.

Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with meal planning and meal preparation


• Perform light housekeeping duties such as:


• Making and changing beds


• Dusting


• Vacuuming


• Washing floors


• Cleaning kitchens and bathrooms


• Laundry


• Assist with essential shopping and errands in accordance with the care plan


• Handle client funds for approved errands when authorized and supervised


• Support clients in following written special diet plans as outlined in the care plan

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities

The homemaker must pass agency exam with 75% or better.

In good physical health.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Related training or experience is a plus

Valid driver’s license required

Valid automobile insurance required

Must be in good physical health

Must pass agency exam with a score of 75% or higher
