Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Home Visitor to conduct family visits focused on early childhood health and development. You will work with parents to provide support, advocacy, and service coordination using trauma-informed and curriculum-based approaches in the family’s community.

The role requires completing full training on the Parents as Teachers program and implementing visits with fidelity, fostering self-sufficiency, positive parenting, and strong family dynamics.

Qualifications

• Minimum AA degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Education, Human Services, or related field and two years of experience working with children and/or families in diverse communities.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years' experience working with low-income families with children birth through five in their homes.
• Bilingual preferred (Karen, Hmong, Somali, or Spanish).
• Ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing with a variety of people.
• Maintain a valid driver's license, current car insurance, and use of personal vehicle for agency business.
• Knowledge of experience in case management and client advocacy preferred.

Job Summary:

Outcomes will foster self-sufficiency, prenatal care, positive parenting and family dynamics, health and wellness, family safety and child development. The Home Visitor is responsible for completing full training on the evidence-based Parents as Teachers program and implementing the home visits in full fidelity.
