Job summary

UnityPoint Health is hiring for a Respiratory Therapist in a home care setting. The role involves assisting in treatment, education, and ongoing management of home medical equipment to help patients breathe easier at home.

The position offers a $20,000 New Hire Sign-On Bonus and a Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM shift. Responsibilities include education on equipment use, documentation, and ensuring safe, high-quality delivery of services to patients per care plans.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program required.
• Graduate of a CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program required.
• Must have current licensure in good standing to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist by NBRC required.
• Auto insurance required for driving a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Setup and provide education/instruction on safe use of respiratory equipment per physician prescription and patient evaluation.
• Responsible for setup, documentation and patient follow-up as necessary.
• Ensure quality and safe delivery of services to patients per plan of care; use equipment and supplies safely, effectively and efficiently.
• Consistently utilize a patient-centered approach considering physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, and safety aspects.
• Develop a field of expertise by maintaining knowledge of third-party coverage.
