The Kroger Co. is hiring for a customer service-focused team member in Wasilla, Alaska. You’ll deliver outstanding service, keep a safe and clean environment, and help meet department sales goals while supporting daily department operations.

You will gain product knowledge, assist customers, stock merchandise, and follow safety and loss prevention procedures to ensure a positive shopping experience. This role emphasizes teamwork and community engagement.

• Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs as needed.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report safety risks, theft or fraud.

Responsibilities

• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products.
• Understand the store's layout and be able to locate products.
• Inform and educate department associates about current, upcoming and special in-store promotions, especially promotions that affect the department.
• Maintain EAS to company standard.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note any discrepancies in inventory.
• Plan, organize and supervise the inventory process.
• Observe scheduled shift operating hours.
• Demonstrate creative merchandising.
• Condition all products in assigned sections according to company policy.
• Understand and perform cashier functions.
• Ensure that all current merchandising, customer service, labor control, expense and supply controls, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, food safety, associate and customer engagement rules are being followed.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
• Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report all safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum
