Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to deliver, set up, and support respiratory and home medical equipment at patients’ homes and clinics. You will educate patients and caregivers, perform assessments, and ensure safety, quality care, and HIPAA compliance in daily field work.

Primarily field-based with occasional on-call coverage in the assigned area, you will maintain oxygen systems and complete documentation for reimbursement while upholding company policies and safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of healthcare technician, military service, delivery/field service with customer service interaction or related experience preferred.
• Senior level requires two years of relevant experience, including one year in a similar role.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of HME products, services, and applicable regulations.
• Perform patient assessments and re assessments to support appropriate ongoing care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on the safe use, care, and troubleshooting of respiratory and HME equipment.
• Respond to patient equipment issues, including under emergency conditions when required.
• Maintain home oxygen systems through scheduled patient visits.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and infection control standards, including proper use of PPE.
• Deliver, set up, retrieve, clean, and maintain equipment in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and simple repairs; report equipment hazards or incidents as required.
• Process orders and complete documentation accurately and timely to support patient care and reimbursement.
• Maintain basic reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper billing for equipment and services.
• Promote company services and products to referral sources, as appropriate.
