What You’ll Do In This Role

• Infuse patients in their homes, requiring travel to and from patient locations.

Administer Infusions And Injections

• Administer medications via IV, subcutaneous injections, or other prescribed methods.
• Monitor patients during infusions for adverse reactions.

Patient Assessment

• Assess medical history, allergies, and medications prior to treatment.
• Evaluate physical condition and vital signs before, during, and after infusions.
• Identify and document risks and side effects.

Education And Counseling

• Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects, and treatment expectations.
• Provide home management instructions for side effects or emergencies.

Patient Monitoring And Follow-up

• Monitor for immediate reactions and schedule follow-ups.
• Adjust care plans based on patient feedback and health changes.

Documentation And Record Keeping

• Maintain detailed records of treatments, responses, and adverse events.

Collaboration With Healthcare Providers

• Coordinate with the healthcare team for optimal patient care.

Medication Management

• Ensure proper medication handling and verification.

Quality Control And Safety

• Follow sterile techniques and safety protocols.

Inventory Management

• Monitor medication stocks and coordinate inventory with the pharmacy team.

Support For Specialty Medication Services

• Assist with insurance verification and authorization processes.

Qualifications

• College degree or certification, or equivalent experience.
• RN: 2 years required.
• RN license in the state of employment.
• Experience with PIV lines, ports, PICC lines: 1 year required.
• Infusion experience in hospital or home health: 1 year preferred.

Additional notes: Successful completion of a drug screen, and work authorization in the US are required.
