Job summary

AOM Infusion is seeking an Infusion Nurse, Independent Contractor, to serve patients in the Abilene, TX area. The clinician will provide primary patient care, education, and coordination with the in-house RN staff to develop and revise the plan of care following physician orders.

Responsibilities include clinical assessments, IV access management, and discharge planning coordination. Excellent communication and adherence to infection control and HIPAA are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed and registered as a registered nurse in theStates where practicing.
• Current CPR certification.
• At least one year of RN experience, preferably in home infusion.
• Experience managing infusion access devices such as IV lines, PICC lines, CVADs.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document the patient’s biophysical, psychosocial, and educational needs.
• Perform physical assessments and report problems to the patient’s physician and the in-house RN staff.
• Cooperate with in-house RN staff on the design and implementation of the nursing care plan.
• Identify and report changes in the patient’s condition requiring plan updates.
• Provide education to patients and families about health care needs and prescribed therapy.
• Insert, maintain and assess IV access devices and report issues to the in-house RN staff.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and infection control standards.
