RN Infusion Field Nurse provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in need of intravenous treatment.

Responsibilities:

1. Administers intravenous therapeutic treatments as directed by a physician.
2. Observes patient's IV treatment and documents observations in Kinnser.
3. Provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous treatment and procedures.
4. Develops care plans with physicians and other healthcare team members.
5. Performs blood transfusions, steroid infusions, intermittent chemotherapy infusions, electrolyte infusions, antibiotic infusions, and vitamin infusions.
6. Provides education on possible adverse effects of therapy.
7. Inserts and maintains midlines or PICC lines.
8. Administers fluid therapy and medication.
9. Maintains infection control and prevention as a priority.
10. Monitors patients' IV lines and medication.
11. Reviews pertinent lab data.
12. Collaborates and communicates with the prescribing doctor throughout therapy.
13. Performs line maintenance and troubleshooting.
14. Prevents and controls infection by monitoring the insertion area.

Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
• RN license.
• At least 1 year of infusion therapy experience and training.
• Strong communication and patient care skills.
