Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy under guidance of a physical therapist.

• Instruct patients in the use of wheelchairs, braces, and prosthetic devices.
• Maintain necessary clinical records and notes.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

Provides direct physical therapy according to the directions of the physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care.

Treats patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.

Directs and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle re‑education, gait and functional training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training.

Utilizes physical agents, including, but not limited to, heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage.

Observes and reports to the physical therapist and organization personnel the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in patient condition.

Instructs patients in the care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.

Maintains necessary records; clinical notes and conference notes, which will be incorporated into the patient's clinical record within prescribed time frames.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Graduated from a Physical Therapy Assistant program approved by CAPTE and passed a national examination for PTAs.
• Licensed and able to practice in Washington State.
• Hold and maintain an active BLS CPR certification.
• Ability to drive and/or have access to transportation for agency‑related travel. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, automobile insurance coverage, and a functional automobile.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Home Health or post‑acute care.
• Familiarity with Homecare Homebase EMR.

Schedule, Pay and Benefits

Full‑time flexible hours between Monday through Friday with ability to set own schedule.

Hourly $35–$40 + mileage reimbursement.
