Physical Therapist Assistant, PTA - Full Time

A Physical Therapist Assistant is a licensed professional who implements care and interventions to improve patients’ mobility. They provide exercise instruction, demonstrate empathy, and document treatment outcomes. They assist physical therapists in enhancing patients’ physical abilities and well-being.

Description:

The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for delivering quality care to help patients attain maximum functional level. The therapist needs to demonstrate knowledge in caring for orthopedic and neurological involved patients.

The PTA helps patients accomplish treatment plans and therapeutic activities by administering manual physical exercises, instructing, encouraging, and assisting in non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily living activities. They also apply assistive and supportive care. The PTA assesses and interprets evaluations and test results, determines treatment plans in consultation with physicians, and documents patient care services in compliance with legal and professional requirements. Their duties include:

• Follow-up visits for home health orthopedic patients
• Ensuring continued eligibility for home health services
• Helping patients use supportive devices such as crutches, canes, and prostheses
• Instructing and counseling patients on therapeutic regimens and health maintenance
• Maintaining a safe and clean working environment in accordance with procedures and infection-control policies
• Monitoring treatment trends and services to meet production objectives
• Driving to various locations as required

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in physical therapy
• At least 1 year of home health experience as a physical therapist
• Current license to practice as a physical therapist within the state of operation
• Valid CPR certification
• Licensed driver with ability to travel to all locations
