Job summary

Phoenix Home Care & Hospice is seeking a Hospice Home Health Aide for the Topeka, KS area to provide compassionate in-home care. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with a supportive team and opportunities to grow within the hospice setting.

Applicants must have or be willing to obtain HHA certification, be at least 18, hold a valid driver’s license, and have access to a reliable vehicle with auto insurance. Prior hospice experience is preferred and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must have HHA certification.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable vehicle and auto insurance.
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
• Hospice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patient with bathing, mouth, skin, and hair care.
• Help patient to bathroom and with ambulation.
• Assist with prescribed exercises and mobility.
• Change bed linens and perform incidental cleaning as needed.
• Prepare and serve meals per prescribed diets.
• Maintain records of services and patient condition.

Job duties

• Help patient with bath, mouth, skin, and hair care.
• Helps patient to bathroom.
• Helps patient in and out of bed, assisting with ambulation.
• Helps patient with prescribed exercises.
• Changes bed linens and may perform other incidental cleaning services (though this is not to be the primary purpose of the visit.
• Prepares and serves food for patient, following special prescribed diets.
• Maintains records of services performed and of apparent condition of patient.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• HHA certification required.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Reliable vehicle with current auto insurance
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Hospice experience preferred.
