Job summary

Visiting Angels Lufkin seeks a dedicated Home Health Aide - HHA to support seniors in the Deep East Texas area with compassionate, one-on-one care. Responsibilities include light housekeeping, meal preparation, mobility assistance, and safe transportation. Your role is to be a trusted companion and assist with daily tasks in the home.

The position offers opportunities for advanced training in dementia or Alzheimer's care, with flexible shifts, weekly pay, and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Passion to serve others - a true caregiver.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Experience with bathing assistance and incontinence care.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer's and Dementia.
• 2 years professional experience with the elderly in a Facility or with an agency or have a CNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (Transferring assistance using hoyer lifts or gait belts or walkers and wheelchairs)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene (Bathing assistance and incontinence care)
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client's shopping or accompany them when they shop (grocery shopping, salon, dr appointments)
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
