Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a PRN Days Home Health Aide to provide compassionate, in-home care for patients. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor vitals, and help patients stay safe and comfortable in their own homes.

Orientation pay with subsequent per-visit earnings, mileage reimbursement, and a range of benefits support your well-being and financial security. This role rewards reliability, empathy, and teamwork in a patient-centered home-care environment.

Qualifications

  • CNA experience within the last two years required or refresher training as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current state CNA certification is required.
  • CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain temperature, pulse, blood pressure and respiration.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment in the home.
  • Assist patient with bed mobility, bathing, hygiene and toileting.
  • Prepare and assist with meals.
  • Perform light homemaking and environmental tasks.
  • Observe and report changes in patient status.
  • Follow care center infection prevention and safety procedures.
  • Assist with prescribed exercises as instructed by nurse or therapist.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Attractive pay
  • $12.00 - $15.00/hourfor orientation, followed by per visit rateof $17 - $20 with the opportunity to maximize earnings through visit volume.

Responsibilities

  • Assists patient with getting in and out of bed, bathing, hygiene, and toileting.
  • Prepares and provides and/or assists with meals.
  • Performs light homemaking and other environmental services.
  • Observes, reports, and documents any changes in patient status.
  • Understands basic elements of body functioning and reports changes in patient's body functions as indicated.
  • Recognizes emergency situations and implements appropriate emergency procedures per care center policy.
  • Follows care center procedures regarding infection prevention and control, handling of hazardous waste and safety measures.
  • Follows specific written instructions for personal care in accordance with the plan of care.
  • Assists patient with prescribed exercises as instructed per nurse or therapist.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
  • CNA experience within the last two years. If it has been more than two years, you must complete another training and competency program before providing services.
  • Must be able to successfully pass the competency program of the care center.
  • Current CPR certification.
