Job summary

Western CT Home Care Inc. in Danbury, CT is seeking a Home Health Aide to assist patients with daily living activities under the supervision of licensed staff.

The role requires caring for patients at home, including personal care, meal preparation and basic homemaking. A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required for home visits. Six months of related experience is preferred and the ability to take vitals is expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to competently take temperatures, heart rates, pulses and respiratory rates.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance with patient care activities as directed on the care plan and by licensed staff.
• Independently assists the patient with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation/cooking and feeding, and basic homemaking and laundry.

Summary:

Provides assistance with patient care activities as directed on the patient home health aide care plan and under the direction of the registered licensed professional staff. Independently assists the patient with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation/cooking and/or feeding and provides basic homemaking and laundry assistance for the patient in the home.

Other Information:

Able to competently take temperatures, heart rates/pulses, respiratory rates and identify changes in patient condition.

Minimum of six months job related experience.

Current valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and access to a good working vehicle are required.

Working Conditions:

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Significant occupational risk

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
