Job summary

King Soopers in Parker, CO is seeking an experienced store operations leader to manage the Home Department and maximize financial performance. You will provide exceptional customer service and ensure quality assurance while upholding the company’s core values of respect, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

You will supervise staff, manage inventories, control costs, and drive sales in a fast-paced retail environment, maintaining accuracy and compliance with policies.

Responsibilities

  • Follow planners, memos, bulletins and faxes to increase sales.
  • Coordinate intercom sales according to policy.
  • Plan and organize workflow to meet goals and establish timelines.
  • Prioritize daily tasks for clerks and ensure completion.
  • Monitor vendors for policy compliance.
  • Maintain inventory records, store statements and invoices.
  • Achieve profit and labor budgets.
  • Authorize manager discretionary markdowns.
  • Greet customers and provide prompt courteous service.
  • Assist customers with product issues.
  • Package merchandise per policy.
  • Train new personnel per procedures.
  • Keep accurate in-store merchandise records.
  • Order supplies per policy.
  • Follow receiving, price marking and restocking procedures.
  • Maintain in-stock position on all products.
  • Apparel inventory controls.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports; conduct reviews.
  • Perform essential functions with/without accommodation.

Job description

Manage the Home Department and maximize all financial operations. Provide exceptional customer service and quality assurance standards, as well as, achieve the sales and profit goals established for the department.Role model and demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.

Responsibilities
  • Be thoroughly familiar with products carried in the department.
  • Follow planner, memos, bulletins, and faxes from the offices in an effort to create additional sales.
  • Coordinate intercom sales according to company policy and procedures.
  • Plan and organize workflow to accomplish goals and objectives. Sets priorities, organizes activities and resources and establishes timelines.
  • Daily prioritize list for clerks, follow up on tasks and assignments to ensure successful completion.
  • Monitor vendors to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain records of inventory, store statements, and invoices according to company policy.
  • Achieve profit contribution budgets and labor budgets.
  • Authorize any manager discretion markdowns.
  • Greet all customers and provide prompt assistance and courteous service.
  • Assist customers with any products they may have difficulty handling.
  • Package merchandise according to established company policies and procedures.
  • Train new personnel according to company outlines and procedures.
  • Keep an accurate record of in-store merchandise.
  • Order supplies in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Follow approved procedures for receiving product, price marking and restocking to ensure quality protection, public image, accurate and product rotation.
  • Maintain in-stock position on all products at all times.
  • Responsible for apparel inventory accuracy and controls.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications

Minimum

  • Willing to work weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to make intelligent decisions quickly.
  • Able to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.
  • Possess abilities and skills for effective production, merchandising, and customer services related to sale of merchandise.
  • Qualified and able to operate power machinery and work with various job tools.
  • Related retail work experience.
  • Familiarity with apparel sales terms and processes.
  • Past work record reflects dependability and integrity.
