Job description

Wright City, MO - We are hiring a CDL-A Truck Tractor/Trailer Driver for a local shuttle run.

• Primary shift tentatively starts at 6:00 AM
• Work 8-hour shifts
• $25 per hour starting
• Shuttle trailers from dispatch-provided locations
• Perform frequent drop and hook operations (several times per hour per spotter duties)
• Strong backing and maneuvering skills required

General Duties:

• Pick up, deliver, and transfer freight within a localized radius of the drop yard
• Get in and out of the truck 10-12 times per hour
• Raise and lower landing gear manually
• Release kingpin lock on the 5th wheel manually (puller provided)
• Check temperature settings on refrigeration units and reset as needed.
• Fill fuel tanks on trucks and trailers
• Strong communication skills (radio work)
• Ability to stay calm under pressure
• Availability for weekend work as needed

Complete a list of all the empty trailers on site and return the list to the shipping dept. and make copies to the Load controller, Distribution Supervisor and Billing Clerk.
