Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Elgin, IL for a home-daily route with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits. The schedule runs Sunday through Thursday, with start times from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and 40+ hours per week, including no-touch freight 53' dry van trailers.

Drivers receive medical, dental & vision coverage after 30 days, PTO from day 1 (up to 80 hours first year), and a 401(k) plan with company match after one year, plus uniforms and boot allowances.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs.
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
