Job summary

Island Home Care, part of LHC Group and UnitedHealth Group, is hiring a Speech Therapist in Florida. You will assess and treat speech and language disorders, and guide patients and families in communication, swallowing, and cognitive strategies.

Primary responsibilities include delivering therapy within plan of care, evaluating function, coordinating with the health care team, documenting progress, and educating patients and caregivers.

Qualifications

• Licensed in Speech Therapy in the state of residence.
• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provides services within the scope of practice as defined by state laws and plan of care.
• Evaluates function and assists in developing the therapy plan of care.
• Treats patients to communicate effectively, including speech, swallowing and cognition.
• Observes and reports patient response to treatment to the supervising clinician.
• Educates patient, family and caregivers on therapy techniques.
• Function in home settings regardless of age, race, creed or financial condition.
