Job summary

ahcmo is seeking a Home Care Aide in Ferguson, MO to provide basic in-home support and daily living assistance. The role involves meal planning and light housekeeping, along with mobility and self-care help for clients at home.

The ideal candidate will have CNA credentials and at least one year of direct patient care experience, with the ability to assist with mobility and medications as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Minimum one year of direct patient care experience preferred.
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) license must be nonrestrictive.
• Ability to assist patients with mobility using a cane, walker, or gait belt.

Responsibilities

• Planning, preparation, and clean–up of meals.
• Giving bed baths or assisting with a shower or tub bath.
• Assist with oral care, such as tooth brushing or denture care.
• Assisting with getting in and out of bed to a wheelchair, walker, or chair when a participant is weight‑bearing.
• Assisting the participants with ordinarily self‑administered medications (open bottles, get water).
• Light housekeeping
• Laundering clothes and linens;
• Making beds and changing sheets;
• Shopping for essential items (e.g., groceries, cleaning supplies, etc.).
• Advance Personal Care -Assist with Ostomy Care, assist with catheter care, perform bowel programs, administer non‑injectable meds, assist with Insulin set‑up, and perform vital signs and weights

Job Purpose: The basic function of a Home Care Aide is to perform tasks such as activities of daily living and household tasks.

• A minimum of one year of experience in direct patient care with either a Skilled Nursing facility or an In‑Home Care Agency is preferred.
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) license must be nonrestrictive
• Must also be able to assist the patient with walking through the use of a cane, walker, or gait belt throughout the facility or client’s home.
