Job summary

Messiah Lifeways Community Support Services in Mechanicsburg, PA is seeking Part-Time Home Care Assistants to travel to clients' homes and provide compassionate personal care.

You’ll assist with bathing, mobility, transfers, and help maintain a safe home, while documenting care and participating in care team meetings. Flexible scheduling, weekend and holiday hours, paid training, and opportunities for growth are available.

Qualifications

• Must be compassionate, patient and dependable.
• If applicable, we value strong time management and excellent customer service.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the care team.
• Familiarity with MS Office and electronic documentation systems is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Travel to clients' homes throughout the Messiah Lifeways Community.
• Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Assist with mobility, transfers and ambulation including use of mechanical lifts when trained.
• Maintain a safe, clean and comfortable home environment; report safety concerns.
• Complete client documentation and visiting notes at shift end.
• Participate in care team meetings as needed.
• Provide compassionate companionship while promoting client dignity, independence, and well-being.
• Follow policies, procedures and safe work practices.

Join Messiah Lifeways At Home and help older adults remain safe, independent, and comfortable in the place they love most—their home.

What You’ll Do

• Traveling to client’s homes throughout the Messiah Lifeways Community
• Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Assisting with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, including the use of mechanical lifts when properly trained
• Helping maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable home environment
• Identifying and reporting safety concerns within the home
• Completing client documentation and visiting notes at the end of each shift
• Participating in care team meetings as needed
• Providing compassionate companionship while promoting each client’s dignity, independence, and well-being
• Following all policies, procedures, and safe work practices

Flexible Scheduling Options

Our Home Care Assistants provide care when our clients need it most.

• 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM
• 5:30 AM - 10:30 AM

to include the following scheduling details:

• Minimum of 16 hours per pay period
• 8 weekend hours per month
• 4 holiday hours every other holiday

• Reliable transportation with active auto insurance
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Previous home care or caregiving experience is preferred but not required—we’re happy to train the right candidate!
