Job summary

ahcmo is seeking a Home Care Aide to perform routine daily tasks and in-home support for clients. The role includes meal planning, personal care, and light housekeeping in client homes.

Responsibilities span assisting with bathing, mobility, medication reminders, and basic health monitoring under supervision. CNA license is required without restrictions; candidates should be able to work in home settings and travel to client locations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Minimum of 1 year of direct patient care experience preferred.
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) license must be nonrestrictive.
• Must be able to assist patients with walking using a cane, walker, or gait belt.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and clean up meals.
• Give bed baths or assist with showers or tub baths.
• Assist with oral care for participants unable to do so.
• Help clients in and out of bed to wheelchairs, walkers, or chairs.
• Assist participants with self-administered medications (open bottles, get water).
• Light housekeeping tasks.
• Launder clothes and linens.
• Make beds and change sheets.
• Shop for essentials (groceries, cleaning supplies, etc.).
• Advance Personal Care – assist with ostomy care, catheter care, bowel programs, non-injectable meds, insulin setup, vital signs and weights.

Job Purpose

The basic function of a Home Care Aide is to perform tasks such as activities of daily living and household tasks.

Job Responsibilities

• Planning, preparation, and clean‑up of meals
• Giving bed baths or assisting with a shower or tub bath
• Assist with oral care, such as tooth brushing or denture care, when the participant is unable.
• Assisting with getting in and out of bed to a wheelchair, walker, or chair when a participant is weight‑bearing.
• Assisting the participants with ordinarily self‑administered medications (open bottles, get water)
• Light housekeeping
• Laundering clothes and linens
• Making beds and changing sheets
• Shopping for essential items (e.g., groceries, cleaning supplies, etc.)
• Advance Personal Care – Assist with Ostomy Care, assist with catheter care, perform bowel programs, administer non‑injectable meds, assist with insulin set‑up, and perform vital signs and weights

Skills / Education

• Must be 18 years of age
• A minimum of one year of experience in direct patient care with either a Skilled Nursing facility or an In‑Home Care Agency is preferred.
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) license must be nonrestrictive
• Must also be able to assist the patient with walking through the use of a cane, walker, or gait belt throughout the facility or client’s home.
