Job summary

Highfields Inc. is seeking a Family Counselor to provide solution-focused, home-based counseling services to children and families.

The role involves face-to-face work in clients’ homes across Branch and Hillsdale counties in Michigan, with extensive travel and reliable transportation required. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science and experience in counseling families; strong cultural and socioeconomic sensitivity is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science.
• Experience in providing counseling services with children and families.
• Ability to show sensitivity to the service populations’ cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

Responsibilities

• Engage with children and families, assisting them to improve their functioning.
• Provide home-based counseling services to families at a level that is in compliance with the model and meets contractual expectations including unit thresholds and documentation requirements.

• Interact with clients in non-traditional settings and during non-traditional hours.
• Represent clients served and Highfields through interacting with referral sources.
