Job summary

Highfields Inc. in Jackson, MI is seeking a Family Counselor to provide solution-focused, home-based counseling to children and families in Branch and Hillsdale counties. The role involves face-to-face visits in clients' homes and collaboration with referral sources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services preferred or an Associate's degree if within one year of receiving a bachelor’s degree
• One year of experience in working with children and families preferred
• Ability to show sensitivity to the service populations’ cultural and socioeconomic characteristics

Responsibilities

• Engage with children and families, assisting them to improve their functioning
• Provide home-based services and/or parenting time supervision for families at a level that meets contractual expectations including unit thresholds and documentation requirements
• Interact with clients in non-traditional settings and during non-traditional hours
• Represent clients served and Highfields through interacting with referral sources
