Job summary

Doorways of Wyoming is seeking a Hollow Metal Shop Tech for our Cheyenne facility to modify hollow metal doors and frames per fabrication reports. You will use welding equipment and power tools, perform cutting, tacking, and welding, and finish parts by priming with water-based primer.

The role requires reading fabrication orders, tolerances, and elevations, lifting up to 50 lbs, and maintaining safe work practices in a busy shop environment. Experience with CURRIES code charts is a plus.

Qualifications

• Reads fabrication orders, templates, elevations and tolerances.
• Reads tape measures accurately for cuts and hinge/lock prep.
• Familiar with door and frame components and installation basics.

Responsibilities

• Modify hollow metal doors and frames per fabrication report, including undersizing as specified.
• Use power hand tools and welding equipment to perform cuts, tacking, bending and welding.
• Prime finished doors with water-based primer paint.
• Lift and move doors/frames, transport parts between shop stations.
• Ensure tolerances for cuts and hardware locations are met.

This work is performed with various power hand tools and welding equipment.
