Job summary

Lena Rose Beauty in Lincoln Square, Chicago, seeks an esthetician or cosmetologist to care for guests including those in cancer treatment and sensitivities. This is a non-tipping, W-2 role with a structured onboarding and written protocols.

Part-time schedule 2–4 days a week (Sunday, Monday plus Friday/Saturday). Base pay $20/hour starting, rising to $27/hour with tenure, plus 2–10% commission on services and retail. Paid leave, benefits after 90 days.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois esthetics or cosmetology license.
• Available every Sunday and Monday.
• Hands-on skin care, waxing, and body treatment experience preferred.
• Willingness to learn sugaring and body rituals.
• Punctual, reliable, calm on the floor.
• Open to protocol differences from training.

Responsibilities

• Perform facials, peels, body treatments, sugaring, waxing and lash lifts/tints according to protocols.
• Consent-first consultations and allergy/sensitivity checks for every guest.
• Provide at-home care plans and rebook guests before checkout.
• Maintain a prepared treatment room for the next guest.

We're trained for the people other spas can't take care of.

Lena Rose is a holistic spa and shop where the person on the table matters more than the service on the menu. We're a W-2, non-tipping, clean-beauty spa with two homes, Lincoln Square in Chicago and downtown Naperville. We're looking for an esthetician or cosmetologist at our Lincoln Square (Chicago) spa who cares for guests in cancer treatment, guests with sensitivities, and guests who just need one quiet hour.

The schedule

Part time, 2 to 4 days a week: every Sunday and Monday, plus Friday and/or Saturday. Tell us the days that work for you.

What you'll do

• Facials and peels, body treatments, sugaring and waxing of every area, and lash lifts and tints, all to our written protocols and time windows.
• Consent-first consultations: allergies and sensitivities asked every time, and honest advice about what the skin is ready for.
• A written at-home plan for every guest, products recommended, and every guest rebooked before checkout.
• A treatment room that's always ready for the next human.

What you'll bring

• A current Illinois esthetics or cosmetology license. Bring it to the interview.
• Available every Sunday and Monday.
• Hands-on skill with facials and hair removal, and willingness to learn sugaring and our body rituals if they are new to you.
• Punctual, reliable and calm on the floor.
• Open to feedback and to protocols that may differ from where you trained.

What Roses really earn

The pay shown on this post is base pay: $20/hour to start, growing with tenure to $27/hour. On top of that, you earn 2–10% commission on everything you sell (services and retail) through our Rose Rate. From May to September 2026, commission added about $1 to $2.50 an hour on average for our providers, and up to $5.60 an hour in a strong pay period. As your Rose Rate grows, so does your commission.

How we hire (so you know what to expect)

1. A 15-minute phone call.
2. An in-person interview.
3. A paid working interview: one facial or sugaring service on a model at our spa.

Physical requirements

This is a hands-on, on-the-floor role. You should be able to stand and move for most of a shift; bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 40 lbs to deliver services and reset rooms; and have the manual dexterity to use all tools and equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
