Zusammenfassung

The Missouri State Public Defender's Holistic Defense Services Program, in partnership with AmeriCorps Missouri, seeks Holistic Advocates to address root causes in the criminal legal system.

Holistic Advocates will connect clients with housing, health care, IDs, and support services, collaborate with attorneys, and help tell clients' stories through interviews and community partnerships across Missouri offices, including Rolla.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred in related fields.
• Empathetic, resourceful, non-judgmental, organized with strong writing and advocacy skills.

Aufgaben

• Connect clients to housing, mental health care, substance use treatment and transportation.
• Help clients obtain IDs and health insurance to reduce barriers.
• Conduct in-depth interviews to share clients’ stories with attorneys.
• Engage community partners and collect letters of support for clients.
• Collaborate with attorneys to support case narratives with data-driven insights.
