Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a dedicated driver to support Christmas efforts by delivering and collecting food, toys, and supplies on routes assigned within the Sacramento region. The role requires a valid California driver license, the ability to operate a DOT-regulated Salvation Army vehicle, and a 21+ age requirement.

Responsibilities include maintaining mileage logs, loading and unloading, vehicle inspections, and providing warehouse support as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have valid California Driver License and ability to drive DOT-regulated Salvation Army vehicle.
• Must be 21 years or older and able to pass annual MVR.
• Strong punctuality, organization, reliability, and responsibility.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; adapt to varied assignments and timelines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; respectful, welcoming presence.

Responsibilities

• Drives a DOT-regulated truck to pick up and deliver food, toys, supplies and internal mail between Salvation Army facilities and community locations.
• Keeps accurate mileage records.
• Loads the truck.
• Cleans the inside of the truck.
• Inspects vehicle regularly and reports necessary repairs.
• Provides warehouse support when the Family Services supervisor is absent or during busy periods.
• Assists with pickups for Christmas programs as needed.
• Maintains an organized and clean work environment.
• Adheres to agency policies and procedures.
• Attends trainings as required and acts as a role model inside and outside the agency.
• Maintains a positive, respectful attitude and communicates with the supervisor about property issues.
• Arrives on time to perform duties.
