Job summary

RRD is seeking a Warehouse/Forklift Operator to support the Production & Manufacturing team in St. Charles, IL. The role involves moving finished products, stocking materials, and staging shipments with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The position requires operating forklifts, maintaining accurate inventory, and adhering to all safety and regulatory policies. 2nd shift noted with a $2.00 differential; comprehensive benefits are offered as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Must know how high, wide, and long the forklift truck and its load are, and how much the forklift truck can lift.
• Ability to identify doorway and aisle clearance for forklift operation; know shelf/bins height and load placement requirements.
• Knowledge of storage area layouts to locate items without detailed instructions.
• Skilled in moving forklifts in tight spaces and controlling loads.
• Experience with multiple forklift types and clamps; capable of precise maneuvering.
• Able to start, stop, back, and drive forklifts through narrow aisles, ramps, and in/out of railroad cars and trucks.
• Must recognize load balance and forklift capacity for safe handling.

Responsibilities

• May perform battery service duties: inspecting, recharging, and replacing batteries of electrical leads and battery poles; lubricating moving parts.
• May include changing LP/Propane.
• Adheres to safety policies and procedures including hazardous waste handling, lock out-tag out, hearing and eye protection.
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

• Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out-tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies

Qualifications

• Must know how high, wide, and long the fork lift truck and its load are, and how much the fork lift truck can lift
• Ability to identify how high and wide a doorway and an aisle must be to drive the fork lift truck and its load; how high and wide the shelf, bin, etc., must be to place the load; and how high the load must be lifted to reach the shelf or bin
• Knowledge of the layout of the storage area to be able to find and place items without need for detailed instructions
• Skilled in moving fork lift trucks about in places where there is very little room to stack or remove loads
• Greater knowledge and skill than Hoist Operator 1 in the handling of controls for driving fork lift and/or clamp trucks
• Must be skilled in handling controls for starting, stopping, backings, and driving fork lift trucks through narrow aisles in building, up and down ramps, and in and out of railroad cars, trucks, etc.; and, for lifting, lowering, and tilting forks by moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate controls
• Must be able to recognize whether the fork lift truck is able to lift the load and whether the load is properly balanced

Additional Information

2nd shift needed: M-F 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm + $2.00 shift differential

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $17.65 to $26.55 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include [a sign-on bonus of $X,XXX], overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
