Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking applicants for a loading/animal-handling role in North Carolina. The position offers an hourly wage of $14.49 plus pay incentives and requires a valid driver’s license, ability to perform hard physical labor, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Relocation package is available. The role includes safety compliance, PPE adherence, and potential for training others as needed within a growing animal agriculture operation.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous livestock handling helpful.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to do hard physical labor.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork.
  • Ability to use loading equipment and tools.
  • Ability to work day or night shifts.
  • Support the mission of raising swine for human consumption of high quality pork.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be respectful, approachable and team oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Sorts and loads animals in a productive, SAFE and efficient manner.
  • Uses herding board to move animals from pen to aisle.
  • Counts animals onto truck.
  • Maintains cleanliness of crew vehicles and equipment.
  • Respects growers' property and equipment.
  • Presents good company image.
  • Complies with Environmental, Biosecurity and safety policies and procedures.
  • Reads and understands emergency notification process and reviews policy at the site.
  • Complies with PPE policies.
  • Assists in training other loading employees as required.

Your Opportunity Compensation $14.49 hourly + PAY INCENTIVES! MUST HAVE VALID DRIVERS LICENSE & GOOD DRIVING RECORD!!

Core Responsibilities
  • Sorts and loads animals in a productive, SAFE and efficient manner.
