Job summary

The Colorado Eagles in Windsor, CO are seeking a part-time Off-Ice Official to record, time, and report events during home games in the AHL. The role keeps the game clock, penalty times, and official game records accurate.

You will work preseason, regular season, and postseason games, arrive 1–2 hours before puck drop, and coordinate with broadcasters and officials. Strong hockey knowledge and reliable data entry are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Strong working knowledge of hockey rules and game flow.
• Ability to concentrate and record information accurately under time pressure.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn league scoring software.
• Clear verbal communication skills, including over headset or radio.
• Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday home games throughout the season.
• Reliable transportation to the arena.
• Prior experience as an on-ice or off-ice official, scorer, or timekeeper preferred.
• USA Hockey Officiating or scorekeeping background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the game clock as timekeeper and maintain a backup stopwatch.
• Record penalty times and notify players when they may return to play.
• Open/close penalty box doors and manage players serving penalties.
• Record goals, assists, and penalties on the official game report and confirm with officials.
• Enter shots, faceoffs, and other events into the scoring system in real time.
• Assist with goal review by communicating with officials and the Situation Room.
• Coordinate commercial timeouts with broadcasters and on-ice officials.
