GHJ, a national independent advisory, tax and accounting firm, seeks a High Net Worth (HNW) Tax Managing Director. The role leads client engagements for individuals, trusts and gifts, reporting to the Tax Department Practice Leader and driving advanced technical tax work and supervision.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in public accounting tax, proven leadership of engagements, and fluency with returns 1040/1041/1065/1120S/709.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in public accounting (tax) with proven ability to handle tax complexity.
• Leadership of client engagements and supervisory experience of managers and staff.
• Exposure to Forms 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120S, and 709.
• Experience with Forms 5227 and 706 is a plus.
• Excellent oral & written communication skills.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and use good judgment.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Entrepreneurial approach to client interactions including tax planning.
• Willingness to lead firm or tax department initiatives.

Responsabilités

• Oversee the preparation and review of individual, trust and gift tax returns for high net worth individuals.
• Perform technical tax review and approval of complex returns.
• Participate in client meetings and tax planning efforts for a variety of clients.
• Serve as a resource for tax preparers on specific issues and questions.
• Communicate tax developments to firm personnel.
• Manage governmental tax examinations; may represent clients.
• Supervise tax staff and provide on-the-job training.
• Develop staff through recruiting, evaluations, and training aids.
• Monitor economic and political trends affecting tax legislation.
• Assist in practice development through referrals and industry activities.

Formation

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Master's of Science in Taxation or JD

CPA certification
